Louisiana PRIMA was formed in 1986 by a group of government risk managers and others interested in risk management. Its role is to:
• increase the proficiency of risk and insurance management in governmental agencies at the state and local level.
• develop a broader understanding of risk/insurance management among public officials and governmental managers and enhance the knowledge and skills of individuals who carry out the risk management function in public agencies.
• be an educational and research resource for the benefit of governments and political subdivisions thereof including governmental agencies, school districts, and special districts throughout Louisiana.
